I was photographing this Bald Eagle that seemed happy to bounce about in the water. Bald Eagles mainly splash in the water to bathe keeping their feathers clean or catching a meal too large to fly away with. They then drag their meal to the shore to eat. While they prefer to snatch prey from the surface without getting wet, a failed strike or catching a fish too heavy to carry can force them into the water, where they must swim to shore. I was using a Sigma 300- 800mm @800mm. Then I used FIREFLY-UP SCALER 2X in PhotoShop to enlarge the image to @ 1600mm. But I was using a Canon 20D which had a 1.6x cropped sensor giving me a final 2560mm view.
