A series of images of a Bald Eagle flying away from me early in the morning after sunrise at the Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge. All images were taken with a Canon 400mm DO lens with a 1.4X Teleconverter with a Canon 1D mkIV Camera.

Bald Eagle Fly-By @ Blackwater NWR

A series of 3 images of a close Bald Eagle Fly-By taken at the Blackwater NWR in Maryland. I was using a Canon 400mm DO lens with a 1.4x teleconverter on a Canon 1D mkIV. I shot a series of images as it flew by me but I only used a few images here with the wings up. I seem to see more Bald Eagles at the Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge near Cambridge Maryland than any of the other National Wildlife Refuges near me. I also read somewhere that it has the largest population of Bald Eagles in the Northeast.

Osprey Fly-By At Brigantine

I was going through images from a previous trip to the Brigantine Division of the Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge near Oceanville, NJ. This is a series of images of an Osprey that flew fairly close by me with nesting material. I was out of the car & on the Wildlife Drive which enabled me to follow the Osprey as it flew by. All images were taken with a Canon 400mm DO lens with a 1.4x teleconverter on a Canon 1D mkIV.

American White Ibis On Branch

I noticed this American White Ibis way up in a tree at J.N. Ding Darling NWR. The White Ibis really stood out against the bright blue sky. It is amazing such a large bird can hold on to such a thin branch. It’s feet are really wrapped around the branch that it is holding on to. Images taken with a Canon 400mm DO lens on a Canon 1D mkIV.

Great Blue Heron Landing

A series of images of a Great Blue Heron coming in for a landing at Lake Appert in the Celery Farm Natural Area in Allendale, New Jersey. It was interesting since it was coming in directly in front of me as I was photographing the Heron! Images were taken with a 400mm DO lens with a 2X Teleconverter on a Canon 1D mkIV.

Little Egret Panorama

A Little Egret 2 image Panorama from a previous visit to J.N. Ding Darling NWR in Florida. The Featured Image is a cropped version to fit better in the Featured Image area. Below is the full 2 vertical images panorama showing the Egret & the Egret’s reflection in the water. Images taken handheld with a Canon 1D mkIV with a 400mm DO lens & 1.4x Teleconverter @ f/8, ISO 3200. I upped the ISO to 3200 because it was early in the morning and the Egret was in the shadows. So it was pretty dark under the trees and I was shooting handheld.
