Here are some more Bald Eagle images from a previous trip to the Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge in Maryland. It is a wonderful location for photographing Eagles. The number of Eagles increases in the colder months so there are more opportunities to get Eagles flying by. All images shot with a 400mm DO lens with a 1.4x teleconverter.

Wonderful captures, Reed, of one of my favorite birds. Blackwater NWR is not all that far away as the crow flies, but the road system is such that I would have to go northeast to Annapolis, cross the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, and continue a bit east before going south. It is definitely on my list of places to visit.
Thanks Mike! It is one of my favorite places to photograph! We used to go for 2 days, so if one day is quiet, the next is very good. Or both days are Great! It supposedly has the largest concentration of Bald Eagles in the Northeast in the Winter months. They also have trails off the main Visitors area. If you want I can send an ebook I did on Blackwater NWR by wetransfer to your email. It shows Spring thru Winter. Right now they probably also have huge flocks of Snow Geese. Thanks again!
